The program aims to serve the objectives of socio-economic development and integration of the city and the key economic region of the south during the period 2022-2025, and to implement the main missions of UNV-HCMC in the research, training and community service.

The cooperation program includes training and development of human resources in the fields of IT, AI, urban management, mechanical engineering and automation, business management, finance and banking, health and tourism; scientific research and socio-economic development enabling VNU-HCMC to participate in the main scientific and technological missions of the city, to research measures for the development of culture and sports, to study the application of technology in automate the management and operation of infrastructures, assess the social impacts caused by floods and seek solutions to improve the environment; digital transformation, digital economic development, innovative and creative startup and startups calling for investors to invest in building research and development center, data center, software center, service center students and a multi-purpose sports center within VNU-HCMC, on the planned land; infrastructure development of the UNV-HCMC urban area and make the university urban area one of the partitions of the highly interactive innovative urban area of ​​Eastern HCMC.

During the working session, the director of VNU-HCMC Vu Hai Quan affirmed that the university will respond to the development demand of the city in general and of VNU-HCMC in particular.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, HCMC People’s Committee Chairman Phan Van Mai spoke highly of UNV-HCMC’s efforts under the first cooperation program of 2018-2021.

He called on departments, agencies and districts to actively implement the program effectively and demanded the establishment of a mission team managed by the Department of Science and Technology. The ministry is due to submit a detailed program plan in July.

He also noted that UNV-HCMC should design training programs to improve the performance and skills of employees, a plan for the management and efficient use of public assets, and programs following the orders of the city.
